The Synclusive Project’s Portuguese team recently organized two dynamic activation events, underscoring their commitment to fostering regional development and empowering young people. The events, held in Lisbon on October 24th and Évora on December 2nd, brought together coalition partners, local stakeholders, and youth participants for impactful discussions and skill-building activities.
Lisbon: Engaging Stakeholders and Celebrating Achievements
On October 24th, the Lisbon Living Lab convened at Audax, the startup hub of Iscte-IUL. This event began with a strategic work meeting for coalition partners, followed by the introduction of the Synclusive project and a new mentorship program to stakeholders from various companies and enterprises in the Lisbon region.
The highlight of the event was the award ceremony, where young participants who had completed the Living Lab interventions were presented with certificates. The awards were delivered by Professor Pedro Sebastião, Audax Coordinator, and Professor Maria José Sousa, the Synclusive national Project Coordinator, celebrating the youth’s accomplishments and growth through the program.
Évora: Regional Collaboration and Career Development
Building on the momentum from Lisbon, the Synclusive Project held another activation event on December 2nd at PACT (Parque de Ciências e Tecnologia do Alentejo) in Évora. The event brought together 25 participants, including regional stakeholders and young people, for an engaging day of learning and dialogue.
The session began with a coalition partners’ meeting, followed by a presentation on the Synclusive project by Professor Maria José Sousa. A roundtable discussion featuring prominent stakeholders followed, moderated by Maria José. Panelists included:
- Carlos Pinto de Sá, President of Évora’s City Hall
- Arnaldo Frade, Regional Delegate for Alentejo at IEFP (National Institute of Employment and Professional Training)
- Rui Espada, President of NERE (Entrepreneurial Nucleus of the Évora Region)
- Carlos Sezões, Managing Partner at Direfly
This discussion explored strategies to empower young people and foster local entrepreneurship.
The event concluded with a practical activity to equip young participants with essential career skills. Inês Maltez, Talent Attraction Partner at TE Connectivity, shared valuable insights on crafting effective CVs, offering hands-on advice to help attendees better position themselves in the job market.
