On Tuesday, November 7, TNO and WerkgeversServicepunt (WSP) held an information meeting to shed light on the SYNCLUSIVE initiative for these employers and stakeholders. WSP provide support to employers in acquiring and selecting personnel in the Amersfoort region. TNO and WSP highlighted the pressing need for skilled staff, and explained how SYNCLUSIVE underscores a dual-pronged strategy: nurturing the talents of existing employees and supporting vulnerable groups seeking employment opportunities.
Significant contributors from the Amersfoort region joined the event, such as Albert Heijn, MBO Amersfoort, Utrecht University, among others. Guided by esteemed TNO researchers Jenny Huijs and Lisa Hummel and Mylène Hatzmann from the WSP, discussions centered on identifying hurdles, exploring opportunities, and formulating collective solutions.
An example of innovative strategy highlighted during the meeting was the standout approach by Ska, addressing the shortfall in childcare labour by offering accelerated work and learning pathways to job seekers. This initiative, in collaboration with Leerwerkloket, MBO Amersfoort, and WSP, showcased a forward-thinking solution addressing workforce scarcity.
What’s truly exciting is the commitment shown by participating employers for the SYNCLUSIVE project – not just by brainstorming, but also actively contributing to an actionable plan scheduled for a pilot test in 2024.
This collaborative effort marks a significant stride towards innovative employment solutions, showcasing the power of collective action and forward-thinking strategies. It’s a testament to the region’s dedication to fostering inclusive, sustainable, and impactful changes within the employment landscape.
